Particularly violent year

for the world's journalists. In an article (maybe not the worlds most seriuos newspaper, but still) you can read about this. Threaths against democratically elected representatives and journalists is a seriuos threat to democracy. About Latin America it says more specifically:

THE AMERICAS
In the Americas, 15 journalists have been killed in a series of ruthless murders over the past six months. Other press freedom concerns have been mainly of a legal character, prompting calls for greater freedom of expression in Brazil, Bolivia and Peru. More than 20 journalists continue to linger in prison in Cuba.

A country like Cuba is more commonly referred to as a "paradise" and media often fails to shine a light on these darker sides of Cuba. Often with the excuse that Cube offers free healthcare unlike other countries in Latin America. I argue on the other hand that human rights can't be organized in order of preference. We're all entitled to all rights.
