Just when the shadows have started dancing

There's this moment every night we spend together when I wake up.
It's right when the darkness has started to surrender,
When the night has started to shift into shades of grey.

You are so beautiful in that moment that the energies around your being awaken me.
You look like an old black and white photo.
Your eyes are closed and your breathing is heavy.

I wish you could see yourself the way I see you in those moments.
When the morning light tiptoes into the room and starts shaping shadows all over you,
Over that precious, heavenly place on your body, just beneath the collar bone.

The shadows dance on your chest.
They play, allt he way from your lips to your eyelids.
Sometimes I wonder If they are trying to make me jealous,
they way they caress you warm skin right in front of my eyes.

If they are, it's okay.
Because I know that ten seconds later you'll be awake,
and you'll be all mine again.

I wish you could see yourself the way I see you in those moments,
just when the shadows have started dancing.
